About Live History

Live History is an internationally travelling site-specific theatre troupe that specializes in bringing local history to life through fun and unique escape room inspired events! Whether you're racing against time to find the missing ring at a wedding rehearsal dinner, carefully cracking codes to discover the perpetrator of a crime, or solving puzzles and changing history - you'll have a blast as you dive into the past!

Our Story

I founded Live History to bring the past to life in a way that audiences can truly experience. With a background in theatre and storytelling, I have always been passionate about creating performances that are interactive, immersive, and rooted in real places and real stories.

What began as a small theatre project quickly grew into an international company specialising in site-specific museum theatre and immersive storytelling. Rather than presenting history on a stage, we build experiences around the space itself—turning museums, historic buildings, and event venues into living stories where guests can interact with characters, uncover mysteries, and become part of the narrative.

Today, Live History creates custom theatrical experiences, immersive mysteries, and escape-room style events for museums, heritage sites, corporate events, and private celebrations around the world. Every production is tailored to the client, often incorporating the history of a building, the story of an organisation, or a theme that is meaningful to the event.

What inspires our work is the moment when audiences stop being passive observers and start actively engaging with the story. Whether it’s a museum visitor meeting a historical character, a corporate team solving a mystery together, or guests exploring a venue in a completely new way, our goal is always the same: to create memorable experiences that make stories feel alive.

Our Team

My name is Jasmine, and I am the founder and creative director of Live History. I started the company out of a passion for theatre, storytelling, and bringing history to life in ways that audiences can truly experience rather than simply observe.

My background is in theatre production and immersive storytelling, and I have always been drawn to performances that break the traditional stage barrier. Live History grew from that idea—creating site-specific theatre and interactive experiences where the venue itself becomes part of the story. Instead of sitting and watching, audiences explore spaces, interact with characters, solve mysteries, and become part of the narrative.

I personally oversee the creative direction, writing, and development of our productions, working closely with museums, historic sites, corporate clients, and event planners to design experiences tailored specifically to their venue, audience, and theme.

Alongside me is a talented network of professional actors and creatives who perform in our productions. Depending on the event, we assemble teams of performers who bring the stories and characters to life, whether for a museum program, corporate event, immersive mystery, or theatrical escape-room style experience.

Together, we focus on creating memorable, high-quality experiences that transform a space into a living story.

Experience

I have over a decade of experience creating and producing immersive theatre, site-specific performances, and interactive storytelling experiences. Through Live History, I have written and produced a wide range of customised theatrical productions for museums, historic sites, corporate events, conferences, festivals, and private clients.

A key milestone for the company has been developing a model that allows productions to be fully customised to each venue. Our performances are often written specifically for the space they take place in, incorporating the history of a building, organisation, or location to create a truly unique experience for guests.

Over the years, our work has expanded to include interactive mysteries, immersive theatrical experiences, and escape-room style events designed for corporate team-building, museum programming, and special events. These productions focus on engaging audiences directly, allowing them to interact with characters, explore spaces, and become part of the story.

Today, Live History works with organisations and venues looking for distinctive, high-quality entertainment that transforms a location into a living story and creates memorable experiences for their guests.

Typical Clients

Our clients include corporate organisations, museums, historic sites, cultural institutions, tourism boards, event planners, and private hosts looking to create immersive, memorable experiences for their guests. We specialise in events where storytelling, engagement, and atmosphere matter—such as corporate receptions, conferences, product launches, team-building events, galas, museum programming, heritage festivals, and educational programming.

A core part of our work is site-specific theatre and interactive experiences designed around the venue itself. We frequently create productions that incorporate the history of a building, company, or location, turning the space into part of the story. This approach works particularly well for museums, historic venues, corporate headquarters, and cultural sites that want to offer guests something truly unique.

We also design interactive mystery games, theatrical escape-room style experiences, and immersive story-driven events that encourage guests to participate rather than simply watch. These formats are especially popular for corporate team-building, conferences, museum late-night events, and private celebrations.

Because every production is fully customizable, we collaborate closely with our clients to tailor the storyline, characters, and experience to their theme, history, brand, or venue—creating a one-of-a-kind event designed specifically for their audience.

Credentials

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, with a background in history, theatre, and community programming. My work focuses on creating immersive, site-specific performances that combine historical research with engaging storytelling to make history accessible and memorable for modern audiences.

My work in community programming and public history has also been recognised nationally, including being shortlisted for the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Community Programming.

Through Live History, I continue to develop original scripts and immersive theatrical experiences for museums, heritage sites, corporate events, and cultural venues, combining historical interpretation with interactive theatre to bring places and stories to life.
