About Magpie Magpie Photography
Your brain won’t remember your wedding the way you think it will. It won’t store the timeline or the table plan. It’ll keep the look on your dad’s face when he sees you. The laugh that caught you off guard. The two seconds of stillness before everything started.
Most of those moments happen when nobody’s performing. That’s where I work. I have a neurological condition that means I process the world differently — I notice patterns, micro-expressions, and shifts in energy that most people filter out. It’s not a superpower. It’s just a different lens. And it turns out it’s an extraordinary one for wedding photography.
When a camera appears, people change. They straighten up, they smile on cue, they become a version of themselves. I’m not interested in that version. I’m interested in the one who exists between the poses — the unguarded, unscripted, completely real one. That’s the person you actually want to remember.
The psychology is simple: the photos that move you ten years from now won’t be the ones where everyone looked perfect. They’ll be the ones that make you feel something. The ones that unlock a whole moment from a single frame.
I’m based in Norfolk and cover weddings across East Anglia and beyond.
No packages, no pressure, no awkward posing — just honest, observational photography rooted in how memory and emotion actually work.
