Hi, thank you for visiting my page.

I am a general photographer and I am very comfortable taking on most projects. Although I specialise in automotive photography and product photography, I have a vast experience shooting at event, parties and weddings and have a very easy going and open minded attitude.

I use Leica cameras and lenses for the highest possible optical quality and to minimise editing, so I can maximise value for my clients. At events and weddings I like to utilise documentary style photography to get more natural shots and tend to go with the flow rather than plan things too carefully. I have a very keen eye for enjoyment and humour and you can be sure I will find the joyful moments that best represent the event.

I have a fully kitted studio used for my product work and for portraiture and my lighting and backgrounds are completely portable and battery powered for location shooting of any kind. I also have a lot of experience as a videographer and run the separate company ABAS Productions for my video work, but I have happy to combine the two when the need arises.

I was trained as a film photographer from the age of nine as I was fortunate that my school had a dark room and employed a photographer part time to guide us. I would take photographs of sporting events and develop them myself, often selling images to school friends and that started my journey in more ways than one. I shared my photographic passion with one for music and I spent a decade working as a musician before coming back to photography professionally and starting my business in 2012 after receiving my first professional digital camera for my 30th birthday.

Matthew Brown Photography was started in 2012 as a specialist product photographer, but very soon I started working for Waitrose for their magazine and built up an expertise in all kinds of photography. As the years have passed I have found the work changes as technology and fashions alter and in 2026 I am now mostly photographing parties, weddings and cars for dealers and auctioneers.

Corporate clients and marketing agencies for events and talent shoots as well as private clients for weddings, parties and portraiture. I also work alongside auctioneers and dealers for car shoots.
