Meade’s Coffee & Dessert Bar was born from a shared dream — a mother and daughter deciding to take a leap of faith together. After 26 years in the construction industry, I was made redundant from my director role in February 2025. Instead of seeing it as a setback, we took it as a sign that it was finally time to build something of our own. What inspires us is simple: family, independence, and the joy of creating something that brings people together. Meade wanted to become a strong, self‑sufficient young woman — to pay her own way through life, university, and eventually see the world. I wanted to spend more time with her and create a business rooted in warmth, nostalgia, and genuine hospitality. So we bought a van. We rolled up our sleeves. And we converted it ourselves — every screw, every panel, every late-night “what have we done?” moment. The result is a dessert bar that reflects who we are: hardworking, creative, and determined to make people smile. That’s why we do what we do. Because this business isn’t just about desserts — it’s about building a future, creating memories, and proving that a dream shared between two people can become something truly special.
