Our Story
I started OnMedics after spending years working across healthcare, emergency services and event environments, where I saw first-hand how important calm decision-making, clear communication and dependable medical support can be.
I began working freelance in 2023 and created OnMedics in 2024 to offer something more personal and straightforward. Rather than operating like a large agency, I wanted clients to be able to speak directly to the person who would actually be attending their event, understand exactly who they were booking and know that the same person would remain their point of contact throughout.
My background includes frontline medical work, event medicine, urgent and emergency care environments, as well as extensive emergency-service control room and radio communications experience. That combination has given me a strong understanding not only of patient care, but also of how events operate, how incidents develop and how important good communication is when things do not go to plan.
What motivates me is helping events run safely without making the medical provision feel complicated or impersonal. Whether it is a festival, motorsport event, film and TV production, private function or a short-notice requirement, my aim is always the same: provide professional, approachable and reliable medical support that organisers can have confidence in.

Our Team
OnMedics is run by me, Ryan Jones. I’m an independent freelance medic and the person you’ll deal with from your first enquiry through to the event itself.
My background spans healthcare, event medicine, urgent and emergency care environments, and emergency-service control room operations. That means I bring not only clinical experience, but also a strong understanding of communication, coordination and working calmly in fast-moving situations.
Because OnMedics is a freelance business, there is no large team or agency structure behind the scenes. When you book OnMedics, you are booking me directly, giving you a consistent point of contact and a personal, reliable service throughout.

Experience
I have built my experience across healthcare, emergency services, event medicine and operational control environments, which gives me a broad understanding of both patient care and how complex incidents are managed behind the scenes.
I began working freelance in medical roles in 2023 and established OnMedics in 2024 as a way of providing a more direct, flexible and personal service to clients. Since then, I have continued to work across a range of event and operational settings, including festivals, sporting events, motorsport, private functions, clubs, competitions and other live environments.
My clinical background includes working in urgent and emergency care environments, providing patient assessment and treatment, working alongside other healthcare professionals and supporting patients in situations where calm decision-making and clear communication are essential. I hold FREC 4 and ILS qualifications and continue to maintain and develop my clinical skills through ongoing training and CPD.
Alongside my medical experience, I also have nearly five years of experience working in a police control room environment. This involved handling emergency and non-emergency calls, monitoring live radio traffic, deploying and coordinating resources, prioritising incidents, maintaining operational logs and supporting multi-agency responses. That experience has given me a strong understanding of incident command, communications, situational awareness and the importance of accurate information during fast-moving events.
This combination of clinical and operational experience is particularly valuable in the event environment. I understand that good medical provision is not just about treating a patient when something goes wrong. It is also about planning, communication, escalation, documentation, working with organisers and security teams, and making sure the right resources are used at the right time.
A key milestone for me was moving from freelance work into establishing OnMedics as my own trading identity. I wanted to create a service where clients know exactly who they are booking and can deal directly with the person who will be attending their event. Since then, I have developed OnMedics around professional presentation, clear communication, flexibility and the ability to provide short-notice support where possible.
I am fully insured for public liability, professional indemnity and medical malpractice, and I continue to invest in training, equipment and professional development so that the service I provide remains reliable and appropriate for the environments I work in.
My experience extends beyond straightforward first aid provision. I am comfortable working in busy, high-pressure and operationally complex environments, coordinating with other teams and adapting quickly when circumstances change. Whether I am supporting a festival, motorsport event, film and TV production, private function or another organisation requiring medical cover, my focus is always on providing a professional, calm and dependable service.
I have also developed experience in first aid training, event control and communications, and medical consultancy for productions, giving me a wider skill set that supports both clinical work and the practical running of events.
Rather than trying to be a large agency, I have deliberately kept OnMedics personal. When a client books me, they are getting someone with a combination of clinical experience, emergency-service communications experience and real-world event experience, with one consistent point of contact from the initial enquiry through to the event itself.

Typical Clients
My typical clients include event organisers, production teams, venues, motorsport organisers, security companies, private clients and other organisations that need reliable medical support without the complexity of going through a large agency.
I provide cover for a wide range of events, including festivals, sporting events, competitions, motorsport, private functions, clubs, entertainment venues, community events, film and TV productions and other live or temporary environments where having a competent medical presence is important.
I also work with organisations that need short-notice freelance medical staffing, whether that is to cover a last-minute gap, add resilience to an existing team or provide support for a specific shift or event.
My clients range from smaller independent organisers who may only need one medic through to larger organisations that already have established event, security or production teams and need someone who can integrate quickly, communicate clearly and work professionally within their existing setup.
For film and TV work, I can support productions that need on-set or location medical cover, as well as practical medical input where realism, terminology or correct use of equipment is important.
For private and executive clients, I provide discreet medical support where a professional presence is required without being intrusive.
What these clients usually have in common is that they want someone dependable, flexible and easy to deal with. Because OnMedics is a freelance service, clients deal directly with me from the first enquiry through to the event itself, giving them a consistent point of contact and a clear understanding of who will actually be attending.
