Baking has always been about bringing people together.
Slice of Heaven began from a simple love of creating treats that make people smile. What started as baking for family, friends and special occasions quickly grew as more and more people began asking for cakes and sweet treats for their own celebrations.
Before launching the business, Nikki worked as a teacher, a role that centred around creativity, patience and making experiences meaningful for others. Those same qualities now sit at the heart of Slice of Heaven. Baking became a natural extension of that passion — creating something special that people can share with the people they love.
Over time, that passion grew into a business dedicated to making celebrations feel even more memorable. From birthday cakes and wedding desserts to brownies, cupcakes and postal treats, every bake is made from scratch with quality ingredients and a lot of care.
One of the biggest inspirations behind Slice of Heaven is the belief that food has the power to create moments people remember. Hi, I'm Nikki, the baker, creator and heart behind the business.
With a background in teaching and a lifelong love of baking, I bring creativity, organisation and a genuine passion for making people happy through food. Every cake, brownie and sweet treat is handmade by myself, ensuring the same high level of care and attention goes into every single order.
Because Slice of Heaven is a small independent business, clients benefit from a personal experience from start to finish. I handle everything from discussing ideas and designing cakes through to baking, decorating and preparing orders for delivery or collection. This means customers always know exactly who they’re working with and can feel confident their order is being made with real care.
Behind the scenes, there is also plenty of family support. Like many small businesses, Slice of Heaven is very much a family-backed venture, with loved ones often helping with taste testing, encouragement and the occasional extra pair of hands during busy seasons.
Keeping the business small allows me o focus on what matters most — creating beautiful, delicious bakes and making sure every customer receives something truly special.

Alongside running the business, I have a background in teaching which has helped shape the creative and approachable style behind Slice of Heaven. This experience has alos inspired me to write and publish baking books designed to help families bake together and make baking accessible, fun and confidence-building for children and beginners. Seeing these books published and shared with families has been a proud milestone and an important extension of the Slice of Heaven mission — encouraging people to enjoy baking and create memories together.
