For weddings and parties I normally work about 3 hours minimum - I get a LOT of people drawn in the time too - couples, singles, groups, families - any combination really - and they don't have to pose, or freeze, or stop what they're doing. They can act naturally - talk, drink, laugh, pull a silly face (happens a lot) and just enjoy themselves while I draw them at supersonic speed.
I also like to mingle with everyone, for example going table to table, so nobody has to queue up.
I know things don't always "go to plan" on the day so if things take longer than expected please do not worry, I'm not going to disappear. I'll never have something more urgent I have to run off to. It's your wedding!
Other reasons to choose me as your artist:
I've been working as a "live" caricaturist for ages (I started off by drawing people in pubs, learning the hard way in real life) and so I've got plenty of experience and I can work easily under pressure.
I don't draw from photos or use pencil to sketch the drawing first - I go straight ink on to card which people think is very brave but it means I get as many done as humanly possible!
Everyone gets a sturdy plastic wallet to keep their drawings safe in case of *accidents*. I see people years later and they tell me their pictures are framed and treasured. I've even been known to draw people twice if their picture gets *mislaid* amid all the jollities.
I use the amazing Pentel Brushpen which gives great results in permanent black ink on A4 card. In fact Pentel like me so much as an occasional "ambassador" they send me pens to see what I think of them!

Perfect wedding addition!
After having our picture drawn at a friends wedding in August 2024 we couldn’t resist having Spencer at our own wedding - May 2025. The drawings are absolutely iconic and all the guests loved them! Everyone was so impressed at the approach Spencer takes! You don’t have to be still for 20 minutes whilst you’re trying to party - you can still party, drink, dance and talk and Spencer still gets the caricature perfect! From start to finish communication with Spencer was great and couldn’t fault him! Would definitely recommend for your event or wedding!
