I’m Lorna, the owner of Take a Pew Wedding & Events, established in 2013. I provide wedding planning, on-the-day coordination and venue styling, helping couples create a wedding that feels completely personal to them without the stress of managing every detail themselves. I particularly love working with marquee, barn, countryside, private-land and dry-hire weddings, where there can be lots of suppliers, logistics and moving parts to bring together. Whether you need help planning your wedding from the beginning, support bringing your existing plans together, or someone to take over on the wedding day, I’m there to keep everything organised and running smoothly. I’ll coordinate your suppliers, manage timings, oversee setup and styling, and deal with the unexpected behind the scenes so you can concentrate on getting married, celebrating and enjoying the people around you. With 30+ years of hospitality experience, including 16 years as a Senior Flight Attendant, and training in floristry, I bring a calm, practical and creative approach to every wedding. The person behind Take a Pew Wedding & Events I’m Lorna, and I’m the person behind Take a Pew Wedding & Events. I founded the business in 2013, combining my love of weddings and creativity with more than 30 years of experience working with people. Before starting Take a Pew, I spent 16 years as a Senior Flight Attendant. It was a career that taught me to stay calm, think ahead, communicate clearly and always be prepared for the unexpected, skills that have proved invaluable in the wedding world! Because, just like flying, weddings don’t always go exactly to plan. And when they don’t, I’m the person who stays calm and works out what happens next. I’m also trained in floristry, which means I love the creative side of weddings just as much as the organisation behind them. I enjoy bringing together the practical and the pretty, from the overall atmosphere to those little details that make your wedding feel uniquely yours. I’ve travelled extensively throughout my career and experienced different cultures, places and celebrations along the way. I take inspiration from the world around me, but I’m not interested in creating weddings that simply follow a trend. Your wedding should feel like you. Whether you’re planning a marquee in the countryside, a barn wedding, a celebration at home or a traditional venue, I’m here to bring your ideas together and make sure they work in practice. For me, wedding planning isn’t just about making things look beautiful. It’s about making things work. I’m the person checking the timings, liaising with your suppliers, spotting potential problems and quietly sorting them before they become your problem. So when your wedding day arrives, you’re not thinking about what needs to happen next. You’re living it. That’s why I do what I do. You’ve spent so much time creating your wedding. My job is to make sure you get to enjoy it.

I’m Lorna, the owner, with 30+ years of experience in hospitality and customer-focused roles, including 16 years as a Senior Flight Attendant. My career has taught me the importance of staying calm under pressure, thinking ahead, communicating clearly and paying attention to the smallest details. I’m also trained in floristry, combining creative styling with practical wedding experience. Over the years, I’ve worked across a wide range of weddings and celebrations, with particular experience in marquee, barn, countryside, private-land and dry-hire weddings. I was also proud to be nominated for East Midlands Wedding Planner of the Year, recognising my dedication and commitment to creating personal, well-organised celebrations. For me, experience is about more than simply knowing what to do. It’s knowing what to look for, what could go wrong and what needs to happen next — often before anyone else has noticed. Experienced. Who I Work Best With My couples are often busy, independent and full of ideas. They want a wedding that feels personal and completely their own, but they don’t necessarily want to spend their wedding day managing everything behind the scenes. I work with couples at all stages of their planning journey from those who want help from the very beginning, to couples who have planned almost everything themselves and simply want someone experienced to take over when the big day arrives. I also work with couples planning engagement celebrations, anniversaries, milestone birthdays, baby showers and private gatherings, bringing the same practical, organised approach to every celebration.
