The Fun Singing Company brings a fun, relaxed musical experience to your workplace, conference or team away day. We help colleagues unwind, connect and share something memorable, with friendly guidance and a sense of humour throughout.
Your workshop is led by singer-songwriter John Blaylock, who runs nine community singing groups across Manchester, alongside professional violinist and singer Jote Osahn, whose credits include Snow Patrol, Elbow and Gorillaz. Together, we bring live guitar, violin, vocals and plenty of experience helping people feel comfortable singing.

Our Story
The Fun Singing Company grew out of something I see every week: people arriving in a room as strangers and leaving with a shared song, a smile and a feeling of belonging.
I’m John Blaylock, a Manchester-based singer-songwriter and founder of The Daytime Singers. I run nine community singing groups across Manchester, bringing together hundreds of people from different backgrounds. Alongside my career writing, recording and performing, leading these groups has become one of the most rewarding things I do.
One phrase comes up time and again: “You don’t want to hear me sing!” But with familiar songs, a little encouragement and plenty of humour, people often surprise themselves. Watching that initial hesitation turn into enjoyment inspired me to bring the same experience into workplaces.

Joining me is Jote Osahn, a professional violinist and singer whose credits include Snow Patrol, Elbow and Gorillaz. Together, we bring live music, warmth and a relaxed approach that helps people feel at ease.
We started The Fun Singing Company because we wanted to give colleagues a chance to put everyday pressures aside, have a laugh and enjoy making music together. For us, the best part is seeing a room full of people realise how much fun they can have when they join in.

The Fun Singing Company brings together professional performance experience and a proven passion for getting people singing.
Founder John Blaylock is a Manchester-based singer-songwriter whose achievements include airplay on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2, a commission from Desmond Tutu for a celebration of Nelson Mandela, and supporting Wet Wet Wet on a 21-date UK tour. He has also worked with double Grammy-winning producer Guy Massey.
John founded The Daytime Singers with just two people in a room. It has since grown into nine community singing groups across Manchester, welcoming over 250 attendees every week. Along the way, he has brought together more than 130 singers for a Manchester Arndale flash mob, recorded with 100 singers and led a celebration attended by 600 people, including Manchester’s Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress. His work has also earned him a nomination in the Best of Manchester Awards for improving communities.
Alongside John is professional violinist and singer Jote Osahn, whose credits include Snow Patrol, Elbow and Gorillaz. His performance highlights include playing Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage with Elbow.
Together, they combine musical expertise with extensive experience helping people feel comfortable, connected and confident enough to give singing a go. Every workshop draws on that experience to create a relaxed, uplifting session full of live music and laughter.
