The Midsomer Celebrant

I’m Steve, a celebrant based out of Midsomer Norton, just south of Bath.

I also have a very unusual USP, but more about that later.

When planning your ceremony, I work with you, get to know you, learn your history and, most importantly, learn the love story that brought you together. I’ll plan everything from when you walk in as two people until you leave as one. I’ll write and tell that love story, join your lives together in the sight of everybody you hold most dear, and present you to the world as the beautiful, unique couple you are.

But this is your ceremony, and my opening question is always “What do you want?” Of course I don’t leave the question hanging; I have plenty of ideas and examples to get the creative ball rolling, but I’m guessing you already have at least a very rough outline in your heads. My job is to make it happen, and if you want something a bit more unusual, I am so up for that!

I have been asked why I do this. I’m a people person, always have been. I love meeting new people, helping them and hopefully introducing some joy into their lives. Plus I’m one of those weirdoes who actually enjoys talking to a room full of mostly strangers. But it’s those moments of delight, those smiles that light up rooms, eyes sparking with tears of joy and that wave of energy from the onlookers that makes this role for me; there really is nothing quite like it.

Now, that USP I mentioned earlier. I am also a Santa Claus, and I am more than happy to carry out your Ceremony as Big Red.
