The Runaways continue to produce the highest quality sound and still rehearse routinely to perfect regular numbers and learn new ones to extend their already punchy repertoire. They also pay attention to the visual aspects of their performances and are always immaculate in their smart suits and memorable for their striking bright red guitars. These guys were brought up with rock n roll ringing in their ears!
Audiences are constantly amazed by the range of sounds the band produces using guitar synthesizers and find it hard to believe that performances are completely live without the use of backing tracks as they switch effortlessly from the sound of the clarinet for Stranger on the Shore, through to the accordion for Sea of Heartbreak to piano in NutRocker, the rock n roll classic Blueberry Hill, Big Brass power number Classic Bond 007 or Gold Finger for example!
Despite having worked with members of The Shadows and being renowned for the authenticity of their production of Shadows' numbers, The Runaways are far more than a Shadows tribute band. With the vast experience and individual talents of each member and their extensive repertoire of vocal and instrumental numbers, The Runaways produce a performance tailored to each venue/event as a x 2 one hour or x 2 45 mins show with break. They often receive standing ovations and unending demands for encores who duly oblige the audience!

Our Story
We started way back in 1982 while the rest of the world were into Duran Duran and Level 42 we were listening to the rock n roll classics, Cliff, Elvis, Buddy, and The Shadows and more which inspired us to make a band.
Our Team
Ivan-Drums, vocals, main band bookings (diary holder!) Tim-Rhythm guitar, synth, vocals, the odd cheeky joke! GB (Gary) - Lead guitar, synth. Nigel- Bass, vocals, ( Our newest member! ) Tim and GB are the original band members from 1982!
Experience
We have played with stars from the rock n roll years been fortunate to open with none other than Bruce Welch's on his show Shadowmania featuring many musicians such as Jet Harris, Alan Jones, Cliff Hall, and played to a star studded audience. Featured at Folkestone bandstand air show playing to over 100 thousand audience. Performed on theatre shows with rock n roll and the sixties legends on the Oh Boy and 6-5 special shows. Plus many other venues big and small! As seen or heard on TV and Radio. Even credited on The Shadows at 60 BBC4 Documentary. The Runaways, more just a tribute.

Brilliant!!
The Runaways were not just brilliant musicians with a wide ranging set list but a really nice bunch of guys who were a pleasure to deal with. I would absolutely book them again when the opportunity arises.
