I’m an events organiser and vinyl DJ specialising in 90s and 2000s house music.

I started mixing vinyl records as a teenager and, now 50, I’ve never switched to any other form of DJing. Vinyl has always been my passion.

I run Vinyl Sessions and House Heritage — curated, vinyl-only nostalgic events celebrating classic and uplifting house sounds of the 90s and 2000s.

I regularly perform at venues across Brighton, including Volks, The Freemasons, The Bee’s Mouth, The King and Queen, The Mesmerist and The Prince Albert.

My most recent Mixcloud mix charted in the Global Top 10 of Mixcloud’s vinyl charts, continuing a run of strong chart performances for my mixes.

I now also offer my professional DJ services privately for weddings and events through Vows & Vinyl at phattrob.co.uk.

I've been passionate about house music and DJing since I was a teenager, when I first started mixing on vinyl. Now, at 50, I've never moved away from vinyl – it's still at the heart of everything I do. I specialise in 90s and 2000s house music, from big, uplifting classics and vocal anthems to deeper cuts and forgotten gems. I love creating a proper dancefloor atmosphere and reading the room, building a set around the crowd rather than simply playing a pre-planned playlist. I run my own vinyl events, including House Heritage and Vinyl Sessions, and regularly DJ at venues across Brighton and Sussex. I also run my own wedding and events DJ business, Vows and Vinyl, bringing the same passion and experience to private parties, weddings and celebrations. What inspires me is the music itself – the energy of a great house record, the nostalgia of hearing a track you haven't heard for years, and most importantly, seeing a dancefloor come alive. There's something special about playing records by hand and taking people on a musical journey. For me, DJing has never just been about playing music. It's about creating an atmosphere, connecting with people and giving them a night they'll remember.

My passion for DJing began as a teenager, when I started mixing house music on vinyl. More than 30 years later, I'm still completely committed to the format and have built my DJ business around that lifelong love of music.

In recent years I've developed my own events and DJ brand, performing regularly at established venues across Brighton and Sussex, including Volks, The Freemasons, The Bee's Mouth, The King & Queen, The Mesmerist and The Prince Albert.

I also run my own curated vinyl events, including House Heritage and Vinyl Sessions, celebrating the best of 90s and 2000s house music. My mixes have consistently performed strongly in Mixcloud's global vinyl charts, with several reaching the top 20. My most recent mix made the top 10.

My experience combines decades of musical knowledge with the energy and professionalism I bring to every event. Whether it's a wedding, private party or venue event, I'm passionate about creating a packed, energetic dancefloor and giving people a night they'll remember.

I currently provide DJ services primarily for pubs, bars and music venues, where I regularly play to lively, varied crowds and have built experience in reading a dancefloor and creating the right atmosphere throughout the night. Through Vows and Vinyl, I’m now bringing that experience into private events, particularly weddings, birthdays, milestone celebrations and parties. My ideal clients are people who love house music and want something a little different from a traditional wedding or party DJ. I specialise in 90s and 2000s house music, played entirely from vinyl, combining well-known classics with deeper cuts and forgotten gems. I’m particularly suited to clients who want a genuine, energetic dancefloor rather than a DJ simply playing a standard party playlist. I work closely with each client to understand the atmosphere they want and then use my experience of playing to real crowds to build the energy and keep people dancing.

I'm a registered sole trader running my DJ business, Phatt Rob DJ Services, with Vows and Vinyl as my dedicated wedding and private events offering.

While I'm not currently a member of a specific DJ professional body, my credentials come from over 30 years of experience mixing house music on vinyl, combined with my regular work performing at established pubs, bars and venues across Brighton and Sussex.

I also run my own curated events, including House Heritage and Vinyl Sessions, and have developed a growing reputation within the local house music scene. My vinyl mixes have achieved strong results in Mixcloud's global vinyl charts, with several reaching the top 20 and my most recent mix reaching the top 10.
