Our Story
Warwickshire Spud Co. was born from a simple idea – good, honest food, generous portions and service with a smile!
We're Gareth and Ellie Beck, a husband-and-wife team with a combined 30+ years of experience in hospitality and a passion for feeding people properly!
Our journey hasn't exactly followed the traditional recipe!
Before Warwickshire Spud Co., Gareth built a successful engineering business from the ground up, growing it into a substantial company before eventually selling it to a large German organisation at just 34 years old!
Now, at 34, Gareth was far too young to retire – and even if he'd fancied putting his feet up for a few years, Ellie certainly wasn't going to let that happen!
So, with retirement firmly off the table (thanks, Ellie!), Gareth decided it was time to follow his real passion – food and hospitality!
Swapping engineering projects, business meetings and spreadsheets for baking potatoes, homemade toppings and feeding hungry people might seem like an unusual career move, but for Gareth, it was the best decision he ever made.
And he's never looked back!
With our previous experience running a successful mobile catering business, we knew exactly what we wanted to create – something that combined our love of great food, friendly service and the buzz of a busy catering environment.
And so, Warwickshire Spud Co. was born!
We believe a jacket potato should never be boring. That's why we focus on quality ingredients, hearty portions and homemade favourites, from our slow-cooked chilli con carne and BBQ pulled pork to our delicious chicken curry and classic cheese and beans.
What inspires us? It's simple – seeing people enjoy our food, hearing lovely feedback and watching customers come back for more. There's nothing quite like a queue of hungry people and the challenge of making sure every single one leaves happy!
Today, you'll find us popping up at business parks, feeding busy workers, catering for corporate events and bringing our Spud Squad to private celebrations.
We're still a small, family-run business at heart, and that's exactly how we like it. We take our food seriously, but definitely not ourselves!
Our mission? To prove that the humble jacket potato can be the star of any lunch, party or event.
Because life's too short for a disappointing spud!

Our Team

Meet the Spud Squad!
Behind every great jacket potato is a slightly chaotic team making it happen!
Gareth Beck – The Chief Spud Officer The man with the plan (or so he likes to think!). Gareth keeps the wheels turning, the potatoes baking and the operation running smoothly. He's also the self-appointed head of quality control, which is really just an excuse to eat more spuds!
Ellie Beck – The Real Boss Every successful business needs someone who actually knows what's going on! Ellie keeps everyone organised, customers smiling and Gareth in check. Multitasking is her superpower, and she's usually three steps ahead of everyone else!
Sue Dobson – The Spud Queen The glue that holds the whole operation together! Sue brings plenty of laughs, a can-do attitude and isn't afraid to tell Gareth when he's doing something wrong (which apparently happens quite often!).
Lewis, Kirsty, Benji, Stuart & Lisa – The Spud Reinforcements When the events get bigger and the potatoes start flying, we call in the cavalry! Our fantastic extended Spud Squad joins us for larger events and corporate catering, helping keep the queues moving, the toppings flowing and the customers smiling. They're always ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in – although we're still working out who's actually in charge!
Together, we're a family-run team with big personalities, over 40 years of hospitality experience (Cheers Sue for pushing up the number) of and a shared passion for serving great food.
We work hard, have a laugh and genuinely love what we do.
One big Spud Squad, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of potatoes!

Experience
With over 30 years of combined hospitality experience, the team behind Warwickshire Spud Co. knows a thing or two about great food, excellent customer service and keeping hungry crowds happy!
Our background includes running successful mobile catering operations, serving busy workplaces, managing high-volume lunchtime services and catering for private and corporate events.
Before launching Warwickshire Spud Co., Gareth also built a successful engineering business from the ground up, growing it into a substantial company before selling it to a major German organisation at just 34 years old. That experience gave him a strong foundation in business management, organisation and delivering high standards – skills that are just as important when you're feeding 200 hungry people as they are when running an engineering company!
A Few Things We're Proud Of
40+ Years of Combined Hospitality Experience – Bringing years of practical knowledge, professionalism and a genuine passion for food to every event.
5-Star Food Hygiene Rating – Awarded by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, reflecting our commitment to food safety, cleanliness and high standards.
Experienced Mobile Caterers – From busy lunchtime trading locations to corporate functions and community celebrations, we're comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
Corporate & Large-Scale Catering – Experienced in planning, preparing and serving generous, freshly made meals efficiently to large groups.
A Growing Local Business – Proud to serve businesses and communities across Warwickshire, building our reputation through quality food, friendly service and returning customers.
Family-Run & Personally Managed – Gareth and Ellie remain very hands-on in the business, ensuring the same care and attention goes into every booking, whether it's 30 guests or 300.
We're incredibly proud of what we've achieved, but for us, the biggest reward isn't a certificate or an award – it's seeing empty plates, happy customers and being invited back!
We bring the experience, the enthusiasm and, most importantly, the spuds!
