With Love Ceremonies

I’m Claire, and I’m probably not the right celebrant for couples who want someone to simply turn up, read a script and leave.

I like getting to know the people behind the wedding. I listen, I ask questions, I notice the little things, and I turn all of that into a ceremony that feels natural and genuinely yours.

I’m calm when things feel overwhelming, professional when they need to be, and I’m not afraid of a bit of humour either. I love getting your guests involved and creating those moments where everyone is laughing, listening — and occasionally reaching for a tissue.

My couples have described me as calming, thoughtful, warm, professional and “like one of the family”.

That’s probably the best description of what I do.

Claire involved our audience, there were several laughs and she allowed our guests to learn about how we met. We can't thank her enough she is lovely and we highly recommend her. My mum is a very hard woman to please and she hasn't stopped raving about Claire's ceremony and how it was the most personalised wedding she had been to."

After 27 wonderful years as a primary school teacher, I decided to take semi-retirement and look for something that would still feel just as meaningful.

The inspiration came from a very personal place. As a mother of two beautiful daughters, I realised how much it would mean to me to one day marry them when their special day arrives. That thought led me to train as a celebrant, and from the moment I completed my training, I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do.

Throughout my teaching career (and many voluntary roles), I have loved helping people feel seen, heard and valued. Becoming a celebrant allows me to continue doing just that—creating ceremonies that truly reflect each client’s story, whether that be a wedding, vow renewal, naming ceremony or funeral.

Many clients don’t realise how completely personal their ceremony can be. My passion is helping them discover that their ceremony can be just as special, meaningful, memorable and as unique as they can imagine.

I’m not interested in making your ceremony sound like everyone else’s.

I’ll get to know you properly, listen to what matters to you, and then work out how to bring your story to life in a way that feels natural rather than forced. I’m calm and reassuring when you need me to be, but I’m also very happy to bring humour, involve your guests and have a bit of fun when that’s what feels right for you.

For me, the best compliment isn’t that a ceremony was “perfect” (though I'm repeatedly told they were!) — it’s when a couple tells me it felt completely them!
