Urban Spice Box

Urban Spice Box was created in 2018. Husband and wife team are inspired by “Punjabi roots”, Vick who originates from Amritsar, a famous city in Punjab, grew up surrounded by street food hawkers, enjoying delicious food and living a humble life was the tradition. Vick became passionate about cooking and soon starting working alongside the hawkers of Punjab, who taught him the hidden secrets of how to unlock the alluring aromas and magical flavours of over a hundred spices.

Wife Satnam is a born and bred Brummie, artisan and natural banter queen. She met Vick whilst touring India... now whoever said that "a way to a man's heart is his through his stomach", well it's the total opposite with these two. They got married in 2007 and settled in Birmingham, after working hard and having a family, they are finally ready to break out and show the Midlands what lip-smacking, authentic Indian street food is all about.

Urban Spice Box is passionate about serving the best Punjabi heritage street food. Spices are the heart and soul of our cooking, we use home ground spices, fresh vegetables and locally sourced meat from responsible suppliers. We cater for vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers - our diverse menu offers something for everyone, we offer Naanwiches / rice boxes and salad boxes for street eats and a curry menu for those who know a real curry.

Our aim is to get our foodies to understand that not all Indian street food is spicy and that it's actually about the blending of spices, with Vicks expertise and Satnam's creative flair, you are guaranteed to experience the taste of Punjab.

Our eye-catching spice box has served at many food festivals. Its east meets west decor and a wooden plaque made by Satnam herself never fails to add a spark to the special event. Our bright vibrate gazebo and chaat station also adds a great vibe to any event.
