Planning your big day is no small feat. As exciting as it is, organising an entire wedding can be stressful to say the least. With Artificial Intelligence (AI) becoming evermore popular, many couples are even using it to plan and personalise their special day.
But how many couples are turning to AI for help? And what are they using it for exactly? To find out, we surveyed 120 Add to Event users who got married in the last year* and discovered that one third of them (32%) used AI to help plan their wedding.

Planning & Organisation

Our survey reveals that couples are using AI to stay on top of their plans and pennies; checklist creation is the top use of AI, while budget tracking is the 3rd most popular.
Finding a venue is the 6th most common way to use AI, followed by assigning place cards in joint 7th position – highlighting how couples are turning to tech for both big picture stuff and refining the final details.
Interestingly, brides are 37% more likely to use AI for creating checklists and 18% more likely to use it for budget tracking. Additionally, only brides used AI for finding a venue, assigning place cards, and managing guest lists.
One bride from our survey shared that "Having a checklist made everything way easier since it gave me things I didn’t even think of. On completing each task, I just checked it off and looked at the next one. It’s always nice to have a plan if you’re a forgetful and unorganised person like myself!”
Asking AI
Here are a few things you can ask AI to help take the stress out of wedding planning:
- “Build me a tailored timeline from now until our wedding day.” Ask an AI tool like ChatGPT to create a month-by-month plan from now to your wedding date (include guest count, ceremony type, and any other crucial details).
- “Shortlist five venues that match us.” Give your non-negotiables (style, capacity, travel, budget) and get a tidy shortlist with pros, cons, and questions to ask.
- “Create a personalised seating plan for our guests.” Share relationships and sensitivities; ask AI for three seating plan options you can tweak.
Creativity & Inspiration

Our survey also reveals that couples use AI to find inspiration and get creative. Designing invitations, RSVPs, or thank-you notes is the joint 6th most popular use of AI in wedding planning, while creating table designs sits in joint 7th position.
One bride from our survey shared that "AI helped me create lovely bespoke wedding stationery and I was able to see my dream come to life. It also really helped towards designing thank-you messages and cards that were tailored with beautiful words individually to my bridesmaids.”
Interestingly, grooms are much more likely to use AI for design-based tasks, being 35% more likely to use AI for creating table designs and 11% more likely to use it for designing invitations, RSVPs, or thank-you notes.
Despite being the 5th most popular use of AI, only brides use it to find wedding inspiration, according to our study.
One bride shares, "I didn’t use AI to help plan, but at one point after choosing my mismatched bridesmaids' dresses, I used an AI website to see what they would look like together.”
Another shares, "We also asked AI about you know vibes for the wedding and what we want for our summer wedding:
- Garden Party Vibes – think pastel florals, tea lights, and soft acoustic music.
- Coastal/Beach – barefoot ceremony on sand, seashell décor, and a seafood-inspired menu.
- Rustic Chic – wooden tables, mason jar cocktails, fairy lights, and wildflower bouquets.
- Mediterranean Inspired – olive branches, lemons, terracotta, and long family-style tables.
I went with a mix of Rustic Chic and Garden Party!”
Asking AI
There are plenty of ways to get creative and find inspo with AI. Here are a few handy prompts!
- “Show us our theme in pictures.” Ask an AI image tool to mock up your venue type and season (e.g. village hall in June) with your colours, flowers, lighting and tablescapes so you can view the vibe before you buy.
- “Do these colours clash?” Upload photos of your bridesmaids’ dresses or ties and request three complementary palettes for florals, linens and candles. Try to include hex codes and fabric suggestions for more accurate results.
- “Design our place cards and menus to match the theme.” Use your chosen palette and ask for coordinated templates sized for print, plus a web version for sharing.
Writing & Refining

Crafting and delivering the perfect speech is probably one of the most nerve-wracking wedding tasks. It’s perhaps no surprise, then, that writing wedding speeches is the joint 2nd most popular use of AI when it comes to planning a wedding.
In fact, many newlyweds admitted to using AI for writing tasks, including drafting invitations/RSVPs/thank-you notes, which also sits in 2nd place, while writing wedding vows comes in joint 4th. Our study also showed that brides are slightly more likely to use AI for writing speeches and vows than grooms.
One groom from our survey shared, "I used ChatGPT to write the speech from scratch - I reviewed it a few times and added tweaks to match my tone.” He continued, “I am good at writing prompts – I got it to take on the role of a top-tier wedding planner and refined the output to match my context of a Christian Ghanaian-Nigerian wedding.”
When asked whether his partner knew that he had used AI to craft his wedding speech, he revealed, “She had no problem at all, we both used the prompts I created.”
Asking AI
Sometimes it can be hard to put into words exactly how you feel. To help you find the right words, ask AI the following:
- “Refine my vows/speech using my voice.” If you want your vows or speech to be more authentic and sound like “you”, write a loose draft and then ask AI to edit or refine it while matching your tone.
- “Keep it to five minutes.” Ask AI to trim a speech for length, smooth transitions, and suggest the best closing line.
- “Review and proof my invitations.” Run invites, menus, or orders of service through AI for spelling and grammar checks before you print them.
The future of wedding planning
From refining wedding speeches to crafting personalised checklists, 32% of UK couples are using AI to help plan their wedding day. This figure doubles to 65% after asking respondents whether they would use AI to help them plan a future event.
Brides are already making the most out of AI, being 9% more likely to use it than grooms. And with AI touching almost every walk of life, from artificial art to fake TV presenters, grooms are quickly following suit, being 7% more likely to use AI for future events.
While AI can help plan and personalise your perfect day, it can’t and shouldn’t handle everything, especially the fun stuff! Saving time with tech gives you more opportunity to enjoy menu tastings, venue viewings, and all the experiences of getting married. That’s where Add to Event comes in.
