A reassuring function of a trained professional toastmaster is complete dedication.  Some venues may say that they will offer a hotel manager to fulfil the role of ‘Master of Ceremonies’ – announce the happy couple’s entrance at a wedding, introduce the speakers and speeches, say ‘grace’, etc.  In reality, as hotel managers they may have other issues to deal with that are not going to allow them to focus completely on the running of the function.  To focus on you.  It’s not their intention, but they may be called away to deal with a hospitality issue elsewhere.
