What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
When I receive an enquiry form is important I get a good understanding of what the client wants. I like to know what type of event they are holding as my brain will already start thinking of colours and different styles based on the event. I also need to know the obvious details such as location, date and time. Not just when the event starts but also the time I will access the location, I will need to factor all of these in. I also need to know when the event is over. It's important to know if the event will be indoors or outdoors so I can think if I need to bring some weights to secure backdrops and props.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You want to know if they have availability for your chosen date and time. Are they better at things than others, do they have access to the props you would want to hire? Do you like the style of balloons and displays they do? Can they create something that aligns with your taste and aesthetic?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I moved from the hustle of bustle of inner London to live in the sunny seaside South of England, with my sweet husband. I wasn't near my friends or family and knew and knew I had to find a hobby. I already have an online business so I knew I could create another one. I was asked to do my friend's baby shower set-up and bought a cheap Amazon kit. I managed to pull together a decent garland and people kept commenting how nice it was! I then started watching Youtube videos and figured I was too bad at it, a few months later I have developed my skills and found my flow! the rest is history!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have found this platform to be brilliant at connecting me to my ideal clients! I recently was contacted to do Peaky Blinders inspired balloon garland for a 21st Birthday. The party was a surprise, organised by the birthday girls sweet friends. The communication was smooth and I was able to get a good understanding of the client's desires. We came up with a good colour scheme. On the day of the event it went really smoothly and I was able to help them add a backdrop they had purchased. The next day it was so lovely to receive pictures from them, with huge smiles on their faces in front of the garland.
