What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

All you need in order to get a quote from Bubbly Circus is the location for the event, date & time, duration required and the number of guests. We will let you know if the duration you request is appropriate for the number of guests you have and if there are any issues with the date/time or the location. Also, we like to know the age group we are working with and any special requirements they may have. If the quote is for a larger event then we need to know if this is for inside or outside and if you would like the balloon modelling to be carried out from one location, as a walk-a-bout or table to table.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask your friends - a good referral from a friend is often successful. They may have used an entertainer in the past or seen one somewhere that they liked. Once you have someone in mind try to check out the performer’s quality from the material posted to their web and Facebook pages. Find out who they have worked for; private parties, large private functions, public events etc. and take a look at any reviews they have. Also, visit public events where the performer will be working to see if they would be suitable for your event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Many years ago I started a small children’s entertainment business. It had started with providing children’s magic shows but quite soon I introduced some balloon modelling. The balloons became very successful on their own and soon I was providing the balloon modelling service to lots of events both public and private. Due to personal circumstances I was unable to continue with the business but always kept an interest and following my move to Suffolk a couple of years back I decided to start up again, primarily showcasing the balloon modelling. I intend to add a magic show to the repertoire at some point but currently the balloons are keeping me more than occupied.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

The Add to Event site has provided a fair number of booking in the few months I have been using it. It has allowed me to promote my business for adult functions as well as children's ones and I have been approached for both small and large events. It has also expanded my working area as I now do many gigs that are further afield. All the bookings I’ve done have been very successful and have left pleased audiences with lots of models to play with. I think the Add to Event site allows me to reach more clients that are interested in my work than advertising alone brings in and would recommend it to other performers as part of their marketing strategy.
