What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The more information we get from the outset the better. We quote based on a number of factors, such as the amount of equipment we need to bring, the duration of the event and where it is based. Types of genres are also useful to know because it helps us gauge what we need to compile for the event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Every DJ is different. Depending on the event you are hosting it's always useful to ask the provider for a sample playlist of music they would play at the event and see how it matches with your own expectations. If you need lighting or additional atmospheric equipment, ensure that if you require the provider to bring it, it is suitable for the space you have hired. Often the size of the room can overpower the most basic equipment.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Revolutions was created to allow us to create bespoke hire packages for our music services. I've been a DJ for over 25 years, having promoted my own club nights, hosted radio shows and been hired for private and corporate events. Often we've noticed that the services out there were very similar. We are comfortable offering those very same experiences, but also knowledgeable enough to go that extra mile to really deliver something unique for clients.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We've only really just started properly on the platform post-pandemic, but so far so good. We love that we get the opportunity to pick and choose the client requests that are best suited to us. Recently we have had the opportunity of playing a number of events for a private company. Each time the brief has been completely different and it has really allowed us to create something special each time. The events themselves have been amazing, and it's been a pleasure to have been asked back each time.
