What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to provide an accurate quote I need to know the following information:
Your wedding day getting-ready address
The time you need to be ready by (what time you are leaving or being picked up)
Exactly how many people require hair and/or makeup
How many people require a trial
The address you would like your trial to be held at
Whether or not you would like to include airbrush makeup
If you have any allergies
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You should look for a hair and makeup artist whose style of work you like. Most hair and makeup artists can achieve any look, but we all tend to have our own style. Trials are so important. They allow artists and brides to get to know each other, but they are also your opportunity to create your perfect hairstyle or makeup look for your wedding day.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have been working in the wedding industry since 2015, and have been a qualified makeup artist since 2016. I love the environment of weddings, and being part of the most special day of someone's life! It is also really important to me to promote environmental awareness within my business, and I have recently signed up with One Tree Planted, so for every booking I receive, a tree is planted in my client's name!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I've not yet had any bookings through Add to Event for my hair and makeup work, but have had several bookings through Add to Event for my face painting work, The Pixie Tribe. Several of these bookings have turned into repeat bookings, which is great!
