What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide the best quoted, individually tailored to your needs we like to know about the food that you are passionate about and makes your excited, that way we can individually tailor the menu within budget to match your expectations which is why we use bespoke menus rather than standard set menus that leave you with a choice you are not 100% committed to. We like to know the exact venue location and most importantly any kitchen facilities on site so we can try and work within those parameters.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would suggest asking about the menu and the key ingredients as local sourcing is so important along with the sustainability. I would also ask for previous examples of similar work that they have done along with pictures for example and reviews.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Party Duck was established from a desire to offer something different and driven for a passion for entertaining and the satisfaction achieved from other people enjoying your food. It started out as an idea following getting carried away in-home entertaining and hosting my own children’s birthday parties. From there it has grown and grown and become a full-time passion as well as business. The name was derived from my niece and nephew’s who used to call me Uncle Duck so The Party Duck was the obvious choice!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have received numerous bookings through Add to Event - mostly future, I have been able to engage well with the client and build the relationship through to the event. I have completed one job where the client provided 5-star feedback and another job where I spoke to the client after the event and very kindly was given a tip for myself and staff! I believe Add to Event is a great way to meet prospective clients.
