What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

As a private chef company, as much detail as possible is helpful. The more we know about a customer's tastes, their likes and dislikes and their expectations. The more accurately we can quote them for their event. And the better we suit their needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We would advise a certain amount of flexibility. Short notice bookings for example can often be catered for, but menus may be more limited. Also Saturdays are always the most popular day of the week. Especially in holiday homes. Why not have your chef-cooked meal on a Friday when you arrive? Or a Sunday roast for the family without having to wash up?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started Bury St edibles after cooking for dinner party companies that had no focus on the seasons, the local area or the ingredients required to cook a really delicious meal. As we can tailor our meals to the customer so closely we can really deliver or flavour, and we hope fun.
All of us have had long and fulfilling careers in food and service so it made sense for us to take a new step into a more intimate aspect of catering.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Our bookings with Add to Event have really been a joy. especially as the platform offers so many options customers can find us when we are the perfect fit for them.
A recent favourite was a birthday for a family of golf lovers. A big special meal for them after a day at the links. Followed by Golf course cake complete with biscuit bunkers and marzipan flags.
