What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a relevant and accurate quote we need a few pieces of key information. For entertainment bookings, we will need to know the preferred date, venue, address, the type of event and/or kind of provision you are interested in. If you require a Marquee/Big Top we will need to know all of the above and the estimated number of guests, the amount of space available and the type of surface (grass, concrete, tarmac etc.)
If you are looking for general information of what may be best for your event please give us as much information about your target audience, theme, budget etc. and we will be happy to use our experience and widespread knowledge of public events to best advise which of our services would best suit your needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Both structures and live entertainment are two large elements of a successful event and it is important to be confident what you are hiring will be suitable, professional and will be well received by the public. Checking for reviews or taking a referral from a trusted website, agency or event organiser is always a good way to initiate trust in a provider. If someone has been in business for a long time and have lots of happy clients behind them they are usually a good bet. Opening lines of communication during the booking procedure is a great idea, give the provider a call. We are always happy to get to know the events we are supplying and like to know our clients have confidence in us and our provision.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Our business was born out of a passion for the arts and circus culture, starting life as a comedy juggling duo in 1996 the Earth Bound Misfits has slowly grown into the multi-artist co-operative who offer a varied array of street theatre, walkabout characters, comedy juggling shows, circus workshops and in more recent years Big Top and Marquee hire. Having grown from a show in a suitcase it has taken much persistence, ingenuity and hard work to grow into the multifaceted performance and infrastructure worker-run co-operative it is today. Because of this slow progression with a core group of devoted staff from our directors to our stilt walkers, all of our team are invested in high-quality provision and client satisfaction. The attention to detail needed for successful arts and performance has continued throughout all of our provision.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

As we have joined shortly before the current global crisis we are yet to have a booking through Add to Event but we have found the platform very intuitive and easy to use. The website has a lot of traffic with local requests appearing every few days, we are sure this will be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship and are excited to supply provision for our first client through the Add to Event Platform.
