The Coffee Van provides coffee and cake, fresh and customized to suit you and they roast their own ethically sourced specialty coffee in order to provide the highest possible standard of refreshments. What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Ideally, in order to provide the best value quote, we want to know as much as possible about your event. Start with specifics like the date, times, location, number of attendees etc. We find additional details where the magic really happens. Do we know the dietary requirements of the people? Are there any issues with access to the site? Things go a lot smoother on the day if we know there's a code for the gate and everyone wants plant milk :) We even like it if dress code is included, do you want the baristas in kilts or denims? The more we know about your event, the more we can prepare to give you the best possible service.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Coffee can be as simple or as complex as you like. If you want the best possible product for your guests then let it be known in advance, by the same token, if you are more focused on having everyone served as quickly as possible then please let the potential vendor know. As a company, we are big on being ethically sound so I would always ask a potential supplier how eco-friendly their packaging is and where they source their product. Let suppliers know what motivates you and this will automatically weed out the ones who do not share the same ideas.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We've been running shops for over a decade. When we started roasting coffee, so many of our customers requested some to take away that we started selling coffee by the bag. The Coffee Van is the next logical step, it's a great way for us to take our coffee to more people who normally wouldn't encounter us in the wild. We love meeting new people and touring round Scotland so doing weddings, events and festivals marries well with our own outlook.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We joined Add to Event today and it looks as though we have already booked a corporate gig! This platform seems well marketed and has been so far really straight-forward to use. Outside of this site we've done lots of different types of event, my personal favourite was the Largs Viking Festival. One whole week of dressing like Vikings, throwing axes, dancing and of course, drinking the finest tasting coffee Scotland has to offer :)
