What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a quote that meets customers' requirements and doesn't disappoint, it is essential that we know what type of event we are catering for. For example, If it is a wedding, is it the 'Wedding Breakfast' or the evening buffet or perhaps both? It is essential to narrow down the customer's requirements through the information given and this, in turn, makes the whole process more efficient. How many people will attend? Where is the venue and what facilities are available? Perhaps one of the most important pieces of information we require is the approximate budget. Food is such a diverse subject and this information is essential in order to provide a quote to the customers requirements.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be realistic, the more you spend the finer the food! Look at the caterers' website and menu and the information given. Give them a call and ask questions about their service and food. Check that they have all the relevant licences and insurance policies to operate.

Corporate Catering is a family run business specialising in boutique catering for mainly corporate clients. We provide fresh food prepared to exacting standards. We are in control of the ingredients and do not rely on ready prepared foods that are mass produced for caterers today. The Kitchen is the heart of our company, it is where we practice our craft day in and day out. We pride ourselves on being an environmentally friendly company. By choosing to provide crockery to our clients at no charge, rather than encourage the use of disposables, we continue to reduce our carbon footprint. If we are asked to provide disposables, they are 100% compostable.
