My Special Party, based in Milton Keynes, delivers bespoke party decorations and personalised stationery. It started from the love of making parties and celebrations special, employing craft skills to deliver bespoke party decoration with prices to suit all budgets.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we would need the following information:
event date, type of event, the number of guests, potential venue, indoors or outdoors, any pictures with ideas for decoration and the cake.
This will give us a basis to work out a suitable party decoration package for you.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would ask a provider about their experience, skill and aptitude. I think it is equally important to get someone skilled and experienced to do the job as well as having the right attitude and dedication to their work. Especially when you are asking a supplier to create a custom made solution for you, you will have to show trust in their abilities and trust their aptitude. This will ensure that an efficient relationship is built between customer and supplier.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

My Special Party started from a love of crafts and making my children's parties special. We thought that we could expand this to other parties and set up a business. My background in Human Resources and Event Management has equipped me with the right skills in sourcing and selecting the best materials for a party.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has been a gem I stumbled across recently. I wouldn't have come across those clients and it is the same from the client's perspective. I love getting quote requests for a variety of parties and responding to them. Looking forward to organising a rose gold and black 40th birthday in August and a Maleficent theme kids birthday picnic in July for customers I met through this platform.
