To provide a comprehensive quote, we need to know:
1. Type of service required, i.e. DJ, DJ/Sax or DJ/Sax/Percussion
2. Location of event
3. Number of guests
4. Performance times
5. Set up times if required earlier in the day

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I'd advise any customers to think about what they are really looking for before considering music for an event.
Bands are different from acoustic performers, DJs are different from discos and the last thing you want is to be flooded with endless quotes from unsuitable candidates.
I'd advise against selecting £200 and under as a price point as realistically, no professionals with vast experience and good equipment would perform at that level. If your event is for charity or a very short set, then contract the provider directly to explain the budget.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been performing for 20 years as a DJ, covering all events imaginable and having worked with different agencies over the years, some good and some not so good, I decided to take the plunge this year and go fully self-employed.
Cheltenham DJs was born with the aim of providing like-minded professional DJs as well as Saxophonists and Percussionists to make any event fantastic! I only work with DJs who can mix properly and musicians who have performed with the worlds best DJs and bands. It is strictly quality over quantity!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I was booked for an Indian/English wedding through Add to Event and was selected, as well as catering for the older generations' music tastes, I could also mix in some cutting edge dance music and British hip hop. It was tricky trying to keep the whole crowd entertained but with mixing the genres and musical eras frequently, I ensured as many people as possible were on the dancefloor at all times!
