What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To enable us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we ideally require the following, type of event, event date & time, venue location & issues (eg second floor etc), the estimated number of guests, brief explanation of any ideas they have on how they would like the event to run. We can use this information to be able to provide a competitive price and in turn offer a better service.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly shop around don't go with the first quote as the cheapest doesn't always mean its the best and visa-versa choosing a more expensive company does not mean you are getting the best service. Ask the provider as many questions as possible about the service you are looking for as the more information you can gather will give you a better understanding of each Company.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
OEM Orchid Event Management was born due to a love of attending Music Concerts as I would love to just look around and see all the different PA and Lighting equipment and to see the crew who were operating it all. I would never be able to have enough knowledge to be able to do that so I came up with the idea of an Events Management Company so that I could continue that love and to be involved in making Events happen. I have learnt a lot whilst running the business but also have a few preferred suppliers who I turn to for the more technical stuff.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I had a booking for a Snow Machine last Christmas for a small family party just to bring some joy into the children's Christmas day. The client was really impressed with the machine, the value for money and how as a Company we were able to offer a great service, they left us a review and said they would gladly recommend and use us again. Yes, we would recommend Add to Event to others, we are an up and coming, growing business and will keep using this site.
