What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

It would be helpful if I have an estimated number of faces, please bear in mind under 3 years can't be painted due to insurance health and safety. I need to know when the event is, where the venue is, outside / inside. The time of the event and how long you require my services for.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The first thing is to look at their social media, if their work is to a good standard, are they the type of designs you were wanting. Are there any reviews? Do they have insurance? They should be using quality paints/glitters. Does their kit look well cared for?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Facepaint with Wilma came about by accident really. I was the parent who was always "volunteered " to paint at school/family/friends events because I was the arty one.
After a while I realised I was good at it and better still enjoyed it. It's nice to be able to make people happy.
So about 14 years ago I joined up with a friend and set up "Jelly &Cake " Facepaint and parties and still continuing my Real Job at the same time. We had fun, but life changes and after a major life shuffle I decided to go it alone, ditch the real job (NHS) and do full-time what I love doing. There are never two events the same, it's fabulous to be able to be customer-led to create a design unique to them.
Simple things, but the small stuff matters.
Oh and who's Wilma?
Wilma is my bright orange, classic beetle. She's funky, fun, classic, bright, stunning and original. And makes people smile.
Hence the new name.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Only recently started using Add to Event and have received bookings through it. All have been positive and easy to sort out using this platform.
I've recommended it to others.
