What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For Pretty Little Faces to be able to offer a comprehensive and accurate quote, we would need the date of the event, along with the time if possible. The nature of the event - whether it is a birthday party, wedding or charity etc. The length of the event, along with a rough estimate of guests would be beneficial so that we can advise as to whether we would be able to paint the amount of guests expected in the time frame. Another useful piece of information would be an estimated budget, so that we can try to work within your budget and offer you the best package available.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you are looking to book a professional face painter, it is important to ask some key questions when looking to hire the painter. The most important thing is insurance, the very basic is Public Liability, however it is also important for them to have treatment risk, which covers the actual act of face painting. Some people will add extras for travel after you have accepted the quote, or on the day add extra costs if there are more people the paint than originally quoted - so ensure you have the full quote including any extras. A good quality painter will have extensive knowledge of products, and use excellent quality products.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Pretty Little Faces started approximately 18 months ago. I became disabled and retired from the railways at 29 as I could no longer work. I am not someone who sits around, so after dipping in and out of special FX and face painting, I decided to give it a go properly! Despite being a wheelchair user, I manage every event I do, thanks to my all terrain chair, or my team members who can help if i need. I love my business, and I love painting- it gives me a reason to get out, even when I feel terrible!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I've had quite a few bookings, and have even more coming up! But one I've had was in Barnley at a mill just before christmas. The organiser was lovely, and even when one piece of my equipment broke, they all helped to get me back up and running and we had a very successful weekend! They liked me and my work so much I already have two booking for this year, and the promise of painting for all their events in the future. Once I received my first review, I began to receive bookings. I would definitely recommend Add to Event to others! They are at the moment my leading source of bookings this year.
