What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to be able to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, time, potential location/venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event and a brief description of the type of event. From this, we can provide an accurate quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask about the products they use. We are dealing with sensitive skin and they should have a good knowledge of the products their using. Next, ask the artist about their insurance as well as health and safety, after all we are dealing mostly with children so this should be a main focus. Lastly, find out what designs they are able to offer and if they tie in with your event to ensure your giving your guests the best experience possible.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Sophie Aina Face Painting was born out of a love for making smiles. I have spent years in customer service within the beauty industry, as well as completing my NVQ 3 level in Beauty Therapy. Within a year of giving birth to my daughter, the idea of Sophie Aina Face Painting was brought to life; I wanted to create a business where I can bring imaginations to life.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

It's hard to choose one. I have had many successful booking through this platform that I am happy about. My most recent, was a lady who had been let down and needed me at the last minute - luckily I was available. It was a joint birthday party and I painted all the children with 15 minutes to spare and managed to give them all glitter tattoos as well! The reviews were amazing, they were so shocked that the designs produced in such a short amount of time. I have recommended Add to Event to all my painty friends as well as anyone else I know who does something relevant to the hospitality and events sector.
