What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

As a facepainter the type of information I'm looking for in order to provide a quote is the nature of the event, the theme (if any), the age range, an approximate number of guests, whether it is indoors or outdoors and, of course, dates and times.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would advise potential customers to first check any face painters they are in talks with, hold public liability insurance. I would then find out what previous experience they have. I would also clarify if they are solely face painters or if they also offer any other services such as glitter tattoos, balloon modelling, etc.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Prior to becoming a face painter I worked as a makeup artist. Whilst working on a charity event I got talking to some face painters who were also in attendance. I loved how creative it looked so I decided to find out more. I then attended a number of training courses at The Face Painting Shop in Essex and got myself a basic kit and went from there. I have been in business since 2017 and I have worked children's parties, family fun days, fetes and fairs, school events and hen parties. I cover Sussex and Surrey in the main and love what I do!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I've been fortunate to have secured several bookings through Add to Event, my favourite was a village Halloween event that was so enjoyable because of the atmosphere and the lovely people.
