What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To make sure we can provide an accurate quote we ideally need to know the venue (and the address), how many people you need to cater for and the date you are looking at. The more information you can let us have the easier it will be for us to tell you if we are suited to your event. In particular any diet requirements or allergies are useful too.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for experience, but remember that experience is generally a little bit more expensive. If you are particularly looking for a more budget option, then don't be afraid to make that clear, it will prevent you from being swamped with quotes that you really don't want. Look for recommendations or check the company's reviews on here. Check if contracts are provided when you book - these are vital to ensure you have booked a professional company. Lastly, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We have been providing discos and DJs for many years, but A & M Events came to life when my wife realised that her creative side could be a great way to work alongside mine. Over 12 years ago we saw one of the first chocolate fountains at an event I was DJing at. My wife bought one and we haven't looked back. We are all about being unique and different. We thrive on new trends and exciting innovation. If something is at every wedding and party, then you probably won't find us doing it any more. But if you want the newest most exciting party ideas, that's us!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had many bookings through Add to Event. One of the more memorable was only a few weeks ago. We had an enquiry from a local business who wanted to give all their staff an ice cream to say thank you and as a farewell to a member of staff who was leaving to get married. Within hours of getting in touch, we were set up outside their factory with a vintage ice cream bike and the staff were all tucking in.
