What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

As many details as possible! As a minimum we would need the timings of the event, the periods that require music, where the venue is and the date. What type of music do you want and do you want full band, acoustic duo or a solo performer or a mixture of them all through out the event. Is there mains electricity or a generator. This really helps as a base amount of information to start formulating a quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You get what you pay for. If you are paying a pub band (and paying them pub prices) to play your wedding it is unlikely you will get the detailed care and attention of hiring a professional wedding band. A professional wedding band will know how your day works, what is important to get right (first dances, great banter with the crowd) and will make you feel at ease on your special day and able to enjoy yourself. On top of this a great wedding band will know the songs that work best at a wedding and won't just be playing the songs they like playing!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I left home at 17 to become a rock star, three albums of original music, hundreds of gigs and tours and a far few diversions and bends in the road I am now the lead singer/guitar player of professional party band "Blair and The Bullets". The band is the best band I have ever played in with Leighton on the bass (who also plays with the Hoizers) and Preston on drums (who toured with Van Morrison!) I co-manage the band with my wife Polly. I love doing things well and giving people the best music and experience on their special day, and in this band we totally deliver with the best music, easiest communication and bring the biggest party everytime!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have played lots of wedding events through Add to Event but also Birthdays, corporates and specialist events! It is a really easy app to use as a supplier and would (and have) recommended it to other musicians. I have also recommended to non-musical business owners as this great platform covers so many needs for people putting on events, linking the right supplier to the right customer. I value the app and can see Blair and The Bullets using it for the foreseeable future.
