What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For John Johnston Disco Entertainment to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, and potential venue, as well as whether it's an indoor or outdoor event. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list and design.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the provider about their experience, licenses held, Public Liability Insurance, PAT Testing Certificates and DBS Certificates if working with children.
Ask about their music library and if they will take requests on the night or before the event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been in the entertainment business for a long time. I started as a mobile DJ, then progressed into nightclubs. This developed into a Commercial Radio Career, and I'm still working in Local Commercial Radio on FM and DAB in Devon. My services are in demand, so book early to avoid disappointment!
