Soul'd Out are a cover band who provide musical talent to events around Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas. Though they specialise in Soul, Blues, Funk and Pop - Soul'd Out also cover recent releases and can play at weddings, parties or private events.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For Soul'd Out to provide a comprehensive quote we ideally need to know the event date, the type of event which is being held, its location, estimated number of guests, the venue and whether we would require to play indoors or outdoors. If it's possible to provide us with a rough idea of your budget then that would also be helpful.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would be asking how long the group has been performing together, as while a group may have been playing individually for many years, having an on stage understanding between each other and knowing the non verbal communication that happens on stage only comes when you have been working with a group of people for some time.

Ask if you can see them perform live at a public event and if that is not possible, to see if you can attend their next rehearsal.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Soul'd out has been established for over 6 years now. The group was started by Andrew and Clare Lord, Clare a fully qualified music teacher specializing in brass and woodwind tuition and Andrew a brass bander with over 20 years playing experience. We have a passion for brass / horns in music and saw that while there was a large number of local groups which had the usual rock line up, there are very little that have a line up to ours, playing the classic Blues Funk and Soul numbers.
