What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide prospective customers with a quote, initially, we just need to know the event type and date to check our availability. An estimate of guest numbers is also helpful. As we are a mobile unit, we particularly need to confirm that there is good access to the site, to place the horsebox bar in a suitable spot. If customers are using a public venue, we need to confirm that we would have permission to trade at the event. Finally, an idea of what kind of bar service the customer would like and a guide budget as this helps us suggest a bespoke menu.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

With any sale of alcohol, it is important to check that the provider is licensed and will apply for the relevant event notice. Ask the provider about the quality of the drinks they are offering and for examples of these. It's helpful to know how many staff will attend, for how long and what preparation they will do before the event. Ask the provider if their quote includes the provision of glassware, straws and garnish for the drinks. Most importantly, customers should clarify the exact method of payment and any deposit or cancellation arrangement.

From growing up in a farming family and both of us having experience in bar service, a horsebox bar was the perfect combination. The Gin Tin shows our passion is to serve great quality drinks and also offer a beautiful focal point to any event, especially in country settings.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event certainly attracts a good number of quality customer leads from small private parties to large scale events. The platform enables your business to consider events and customers which you may not naturally market towards.
