What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a comprehensive quote, we would require the event date and time. We like to know what sort of event it is, e.g. wedding or other celebration and the number of guests expected. We would need access information and whether there is a power socket. We ask about parking facilities and whether we will be situated indoors or out.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Speak to the provider to explain exactly what you are looking for, e.g. is there a colour theme, certain flowers etc. Providers should advise the customer to do some research on the company they are looking to book, do they have social media platforms, testimonials, are there pictures of previous work they have carried out? By looking at previous images, it gives a great idea as to how this may fit with your event. Is the provider offering value for money? Look at other companies in the area, is this company going that extra mile to give little extras, e.g. personalisation etc?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Having both worked within the public sector for many years, we decided to set up a small business where we could bring enjoyment into peoples' lives and what better way than serving ice cream? We wanted to create something which always goes that extra mile by adding little touches such as colour theming to fit in with an event. Customer satisfaction is at the core of everything we do and we feel it is important to keep in touch with our clients and planners during the run-up to any event. We wanted to create a business that gives a lasting memory, just as we would want to experience ourselves.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have been lucky to receive so many bookings since listing our company on Add to Event and we could not praise them enough. If we had to choose one particular event, it would be a large wedding in Hampshire. There were around 450 guests and we managed to serve everybody within our two hour slot. The large catering company who were serving food could not believe we did it and could not stop praising us for our hard work. Through this wedding we managed to secure more bookings and look forward to working with the venue again. When we meet other suppliers at weddings or events, we always recommend Add to Event and have made referrals, as we cannot think of a better place to promote what we do.
