What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, as well as the usual, time, place, number of guests etc. we like to ideally speak directly to the event organiser. This gives us true insight into their event. We like to understand the experience that they want to achieve. Once we understand their vision, we will then work together to achieve that service within their budget.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We recommend for you to speak directly to the producers. If quality of the produce, individuality, ingredients, origins, dietary requirements or any of those things and more are important to you, then you need a supplier who knows what they are talking about and follows similar principles as yourself. If your suppliers can show you the same amount of passion as you have for your wedding day, then you can be confident that your guests' experience will be top notch.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Fluffy Puffin Ice Cream & Sorbet was the brainchild of Chris, our founder, who combined the best experiences in his hospitality and food services career, to create a unique product.

We thought why should you have to be sitting in a Michelin restaurant to sample some of the best ice cream in the country? With street food growing in popularity, quality and taste must always be at the forefront of the product. We don't believe in using any artificial ingredients, e-numbers or preservatives. Fresh is always best,
and guest experience and satisfaction is number one.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

To pick and talk about one particular booking through Add to Event, I would have to go back to our very first one. Firstly it was very exciting to receive a booking through a new stream of advertising. It was a wedding in Oxford at the end of July and they wanted an ice cream bar set up with a range of products from child friendly flavours to alcoholic adult options.

We produced a delicious menu including a couple of unique 'one-off' creations. We were all set to join three other street food vendors for this festival themed wedding and party outside in the Oxfordshire countryside.
Then the heavens opened! It bucketed down all evening. All the guests were drenched, but they had a wonderful time and danced late into the night, and still braved the rain to huddle under our gazebo and eat us out of all the delicious ice cream we made for them. The bride and groom were thrilled despite the weather and gave a great review that is still proudly on our website today.
