What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

When putting a bespoke quote together for our customers, we require the event date, number of guests and sometimes the number of tables in the room! Ideally, we'd like to know timings, and the venue, so we can gauge our delivery restrictions and access options, but most importantly we love to have a real chat with the customer, so we can create the perfect package that matches the ideas in their heads!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If I were on the other side, which I have been, I'd always ask for everything you're looking for to be confirmed in writing. I know we can have great conversations, and create the perfect package, but you need to know exactly what you're getting and how much it will be. This goes for the supplier as well, we need to ensure what we have in our minds, is exactly what you're looking for, clarity and communication are key to a happy relationship and successful event!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I worked in the hospitality industry for years, starting at 16, waiting on and event hosting, working my way up to senior special events and wedding coordinator at a large venue in Cheshire. I have worked on both sides, the planning and both execution, I have a lot of experience dealing with event clients. After 10 years in the industry, I and my partner (who also worked in a hotel) saw an opportunity for us to expand. We must have a passion for weddings as we do it 9-5 as well as our spare time; weekends and evenings!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had a successful time on Add to Event, I think my favourite booking was at Fairfield Social Club, the couple were brilliant to work with, the venue was really quirky. I rarely get this, but with this venue, I felt like I was walking into my own wedding! I get so much inspiration working in this industry, it's hard to chose what you'd like for yourself. I mention Add to Event regularly to clients at work and colleagues as it can really start the ball rolling for a small business like mine.
