What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to provide an accurate quotation for your event, please can you include a brief explanation of your requirements for your special day.
Could this please include the following if known: event date, time, location and if this is an indoor or outdoor event.
We can still quote if this information is not known but may be subject to change so as much detail as possible to allow us to give you the most accurate information.
We will then price up any additional costs with our suppliers and give you a prompt response.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

As a first thought, I would want to know that my supplier was proficient with their responses, showed an interest in my booking by asking additional questions to ensure that my personal requirements are 100% adhered to and that I am happy at every step of the booking. As well as immediately informed of any changes and my approval for these before any adjustments are made.
I would also ensure that they are fully compliant with the regulations that are required at most venues and can show proof of this prior to the event.
A final notice would be that the supplier is keen to offer discounts for multiple item bookings and can offer me time to view the items on their website and contact them without repeated hassle.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We started Light Of Your Life after we got married ourselves and noticed that there were several companies offering separate services. But we struggled to find a one for all. So wanted to be able to offer this service without the stress of hoping that multiple suppliers are going to turn up at the event and having multiple deposits to find.
We both have a huge passion in the industry and as married ourselves have the knowledge to know what people want for their special day.
We branched out to parties, proms, Xmas etc to enable a 12-month constant business opportunity.
We are both in employment but hope that Light of Your Life can be a full-time job that supplies all major events with bespoke decorations and entertainment.

Before Light of Your Life, I never knew this website existed.
Where have I been!
It is amazing. We have had so many great enquiries and bookings from this site.
Our favourite has to be a booking at the Holiday Inn in Scarborough. This is where we hired out our LOVE letters.
The venue was so impressed they have offered to agree to terms on a lease deal for our letters so we don’t have to travel. They keep a set of our letters and just pay us when they use them.
Amazing!
We wouldn’t be where we are today without this site.
