What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We understand that clients will be at different stages of planning and so the level of detail in the initial enquiry will vary which is absolutely ok. The basic information we need would be most importantly the number of guests and whether they are seated, part seated or standing. This will dictate the size of marquee required. An idea of date is also always helpful so we can check availability. Aside from that any specific requirements they have such as catering tents, bar counter, specific lighting effects is great but not always necessary as our quotes are itemised and bespoke and we always send over brochures showing images and prices of options for interior styling.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Marquee structures can vary so it is important to receive itemised quotes and floorplans from suppliers that you can cross-check, ensuring the level of equipment is comparable and is suitable for your event. The supplier should be able to give lots of advice in terms of size of structure required, advise on layouts and flow and discuss requirements such as power, service tents and toilets as well as have lots of images of their previous work available. They should also offer visits where they would conduct a full site assessment and discuss all the practicalities and logistics of your specific event requirements.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Amplitude Event Solutions have been providing marquee hire since 2003 so we have vast knowledge and expertise in the clearspan structures market. In 2021 we were very excited to welcome Black Cherry Events as part of our group. Between us we have 30 years of experience providing marquees and interior decor to private clients for weddings and parties and corporate clients for product launches, fairs, exhibitions and conferences. This collaboration partners our vision of creating beautiful event spaces for all occasions with attention to detail at the heart of what we do.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event is a great platform for both customers and suppliers alike. As a trusted and established site for events we would definitely recommend listing. Last Summer we secured a booking for a wedding marquee at a private venue in Castle Eden. We were able to respond quickly from receiving the initial enquiry at the end of June to setting up the marquee in September, with site visits in between to ensure we understood the brief from the client and advising our recommendations on layout and finishing touches. The clients were extremely happy with the quality of the marquee and we received excellent reviews for our service and communication throughout.
