What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate estimate, we would need as much information as possible on the size of the available space, the type of surface, whether we can use standard ground anchor system or require ballast. It would also be very useful to know what kind of event the client wishes to put on as we may be able to recommend accessories to help finish and dress the structure.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would always look for references of previous works, a supplier in our industry is only as good as his/her professional reputation. It is all about timing, delivery and quality of the product and service. If you can see evidence of quality of equipment, dose the contractor have his/her own transport solution, I would also ask for health and safety policy before initiating temporary marquee hire.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

On a visit to Denmark in 2009 I was introduced to the Saddlespan S5000 event structure and was instantly smitten. We purchaced our first Giant Tent later in 2009 and Gigtent was born. From there we have grown the business to cater for events from small parties to large music events such as Car Fest and Countryfile Live. We now stock 28 structures ranging from 3m X 3m to our S5000 Tri Span which is 1250m2. We also stock a very impressive and popular trailer stage which can be built by one man in under two hours.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have found Add to Event very useful in getting in touch with local events big and small. In the short time that we have been on the platform we have been constantly receiving quality leads and the cost effective points system seems to work for us. The feedback from the site updating as to when our communications have been read is a real bonus and we have found that the person who makes the enquiry seems to be comfortable communicating through the platform as the initial stage of discussions.
