What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to provide an accurate quote I would need; the event date and duration and a brief description of the event you are hosting. It would be helpful to know what surface the marquee would be going on and the number of people attending. Also whether the event would need seating as then I would know if tables and chairs are required.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly you would need to look for a provider who has experience, it would be good if they had some pictures so you can see what you would be getting. Also, look at their reviews to see what other people think if they would recommend that supplier. I would recommend talking to the supplier and asking them questions about what they can offer to see how knowledgeable they are in the field that they are personally working in.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have 7 years experience working in the event marquee industry for a well established and highly recommended marquee company, however, I felt it was time to branch out on my own with smaller garden marquee tents. So I did some research and purchased my own 4m x 6m and 4m x 10m gala marquee tents. I wanted to focus more on smaller marquees that are perfect for garden parties and smaller events.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I had a 4m x 10m marquee set up for a 21st festival-themed birthday party, my marquee was used for the band and a dance floor area. The event organiser was pleased with the service and set up and used the Add to Event platform to leave a review.
