What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a quotation based on your requirements, we would need to know the type of event you wish to put on, the venue/location, is access easy, the number of guests attending, the number of hours that you wish your performance to run, any playlists or requests. The more we know, the better understanding that we have to ensure your event is of the highest quality and remembered for the right reasons.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Our business is very cut throat, there's always someone out there willing to undercut us. Questions to ask are, how long have we been established? Are we insured? is our equipment reliable and of good quality? Is it regularly checked (PAT test), do you want a modern, clean look and atmosphere, something retro, something subtle, the wow factor for a wedding, do you have back up equipment? The answer is YES we do.....

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Robbie's Roadshow Disco has been providing music for any event since 1991. We have grown our company from a small car and trailer, right up to a huge 3.5-tonne van, used purely for the business. We have the passion for all types of music, especially '60s '70s and '80s, along with any song that you want to be played. We enjoy making others happy and having the wonderful experience of good music and a party to remember for the right reasons.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We only recently found about about Add to Event, our first booking was a resounding success! It was a joint 60th birthday party for a couple that had experienced cancer and were celebrating that they'd made it to 60! The retro gear came out, the music flowed, everyone enjoyed themselves. The copious amounts of handshakes and thank you's at the ends of the evening certainly made it a night to remember. Our first review was from this couple.
