What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We want to make sure that we create the perfect bar experience for our customers and to provide a comprehensive quote it really helps if we have as much information as possible. Ideally we need to know the event date and potential venue, if known, whether our bar will be indoors or outdoors, the size of area available for the bar, how many guests they are expecting, and if they have any preference for particular types of drink. We can theme our drinks and cocktails to the occasion, event or personal choice so the more we know the better the drinks menu will be.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Drinks knowledge, creativity....
Firstly, a bar is often a focal point of your guest's entertainment so always check the experience of the provider. A good bar runs efficiently, providing excellent drinks at speed with a high level of service which takes years of experience to achieve. Secondly, ask the provider about their drinks knowledge. Their menu should show you a range of different drinks and they should be able to work with you to craft the right menu based on your event and preferences. We specialise in gin and rum, with our own unique range, but we also have years of experience with all types of different spirits, ales, lagers, ciders, wines, cocktails and fizz. Thirdly, look for creativity from your provider. You want someone who can work with your theme or style not just for the look of the bar but also for your cocktails and drinks.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
With our combined experience of hospitality and event management and planning, The Little Gin and Rum Company was born out of our passion for gin and rum and grew to include providing the best drinks and bar experience. We love being part of special events and occasions and work hard to add that extra something for all of our clients. From corporate tastings to festival bars or from a cocktail reception to the main wedding bar, we work with our clients to create the right experience for them and their guests.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
It's always difficult to pick just one event but last summer we were part of a beautiful wedding. Held in the Bride's parents field we provided the cocktail reception and a main bar with a combination of fun themed tokens and a cash bar inside a marquee. The sun shone, the music was loud and we had a great afternoon and night serving drinks and making cocktails for their 100 guests. The guests loved our Tropical themed cocktails and it all came together beautifully for an amazing day for the Bride and Groom. Add to Event is increasingly becoming our go to place for bookings and we are already starting to fill our calendar for the next 2 years.
