What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to be able to provide an accurate quotation, ideally we require the following: Event date, event location, event duration, location of the bar, whether the bar is prepaid or a cash bar, number of guests. It is also important to know if there are any special requests for drinks so we can tailor our menu accordingly. Please also provide information on if there is access to power and water (if not we can make necessary provisions).

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I'd ask them for a breakdown of what they are getting for their money, especially on prepaid events. BKN Bars will always give a full breakdown of drinks. It's also important to know that your needs are being accommodated and that your needs are being met. If you like a certain tipple or only want draught beer that this is communicated clearly to the vendor.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

BKN Bars Limited was started by four friends with vast experience in the hospitality and wedding industry. Our company values are passion, quality and fun and we aim to bring these to every event we attend. The concept was to create a premium mobile bar conversion with the same features and capabilities as a premium bar. We wanted to integrate a bar standard draught system meaning we would be a true 'premium bar on wheels'. At BKN Bars we understand that quality drinks catering can be key to making events a success.
