What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide an in-depth quote to a prospective customer, we require the date of the event, the customer’s budget the location of the event, and the duration required. This allows us to quote accordingly based on the specifics provided. We also ask the customer to provide any further information which they feel may be beneficial such as special requests.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Speak to the provider and ask them questions regarding how long they have been in their line of work, how much experience they have. What they can offer you for the price they are charging and how they differ from their competitors. Also, ask them what type of photography they offer such as documentary.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

See Jay Photography started as a hobby 4 years ago, in that time I have photographed various music events such as a Electric Fields, Humber Street Sesh, Hit the North and This is Tomorrow. I’ve also photographed upwards of 22+ weddings in 2021 alone and have bookings all the way up to 2024. In that time I have also taken on 3 members of staff to help with our extensive diary of bookings. I wanted to start my business as I was passionate about photography and wanted to turn this is to something more than a hobby.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I was booked through Add to Event to photograph Moo and Goo’s Breakfast with Santa event at The Broadway in Bradford on Saturday 11th December. The booking process for Add to Event is incredibly easy with most things being a one-click process. So submitting my bid for this job took seconds. Once the event specifics were confirmed I arrived at the venue and got straight in to photographing the first round of excited children ready to meet Santa. The process and the event make my job easy and fun and it’s thanks to platforms like Add to Event that I am able to photograph such a plethora of events in such different locations.
