What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The type of event, anticipated length of time of the event, whether formal shots are required as well as candid less formal.
Format of final images and whether they want prints or an album to be included in the price.
Does the customer want a pre-event meeting to discuss requirements?
Is the customer willing to pay for post-processing or just simply given a memory stick of unedited photos?

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The customer should be looking at photographers who have had some formal training eg wedding photography
The customer should not always choose the cheapest photographer
The portfolio is a good indication of the quality of the work that the photographer can produce.
The photographer's website should always be checked in addition to the Add to Event profile

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

David Blower photography Ltd was started in 2017 as DJB Engineering and Photographic Services Ltd. I have started the business so I can work freelance; as an engineering consultant and a photographer.
I am an experienced photographer in-studio portrait, corporate and weddings. I also like to photograph landscapes and old historical buildings. I am also interested in construction photography.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
